Ten years ago today, I was on my way to drop of my son at the sitters. I had been asleep all day, because I worked the over night shift at Adelphia Communications in downtown Buffalo, New York. I was going in early to work overtime.
I had not even turned on the tv or the radio. I ran in quick to drop off Alex and I thought everyone was watching a movie. I had no idea what had happened. My sister in law told me, as tears fell silently down my cheeks. And I hugged my son so tight.
I had friends that worked and lived in Manhatten. I tried to call them , but all communication was still down. Upon arriving at work, all the tvs were on the news channels. We had fellow co woprkers that had loved ones that had been in the Towers. They sat with blank stares and tears running down their cheeks. The not knowing and the waiting was aweful.
We did all we could do to comfort our friends. Other employees that were volunteer firemen asked if they could leave to go and help. They were allowed to go and we wished them safe travel.
We will never forget the men and woman that lost their lives. we will never forget all the Hero's that gave their lives that day to help save all the people that they could. We watched all the brave firefighters and police and emts. Nor will we ever forget all the military that gave their lives between then and now.
Had a nice night out with my friend Alison last night. We went out to check out the Celtic Festival. It was really nice. Got to see all the vendors setting up and checked out their wares. Picked up a few crystals for next to nothing.
It was anice cool evening. I wish I had brought the camera with me because the views of Roan Mountain at dusk was amazing. The sky was a pale pink and orange color, which gave the mountains a look being almosy majestic.
Man looks at his wife & says "Your butt is big, I bet your butt is bigger than the barbecue grill" he got a measuring tape, measured the grill, & measured her bottom. "I was right, your butt is 2" wider than the grill" The woman ignored him. Later that night the husband is feeling frisky. He makes some advances towards his wife who completely brushes him off. "What's wrong?" he asks, she replies "Do you really think I'm going to fire up this big grill for one little weenie
